41 Baptized in Samal City Jail Through Discover Your Way with God Series

SAMAL CITY, Philippines — Forty-one people were baptized Sept. 12 following the 15-day Discover Your Way with God Season 2 (DYWGs2) evangelistic series at the Island Garden City of Samal City Jail.
The group included 40 persons deprived of liberty and one deputy warden.
The ministry was supported by nine Adventist churches in Babak District and led by Pastor Antonio Taguibalos, district pastor.
Pastor Reynald Dela Cruz, president of the Davao Mission, and Taguibalos officiated the baptism at a temporary baptistry inside the facility.
Local Adventist members and community leaders supported the ministry by providing meals, hygiene kits, food and other necessities. Jail authorities have also allowed a portion of the facility to be used as a worship area for the new believers.
DYWGs2, a digital evangelism initiative of the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission, uses media and technology to share the gospel with communities, including people in correctional facilities.
Through continued Bible study, fellowship and the support of local Adventist churches, they will be encouraged to grow in faith and share the hope they have found with others.
